ME-studien på rituximab er negativ. I tre små studier så forskerne en oppsiktsvekkende effekt av det immundempende medikamentet. Nå tyder en større studie på at rituximab ikke fungerer for ME-pasienter. Studien er ikke publisert ennå, så detaljerte analyser av resultatene må vente. Forskerne valgte allikevel å slippe nyheten nå, for å unngå at pasienter tester ut medikamentet gjennom private aktører, noe de for øvrig har advart mot tidligere. Det vakte stor oppsikt da forskern.
